Since 1996, the International Cinematographer’s Guild has been nurturing talent and giving promising cinematographers the crucial exposure they need to succeed via the annual Emerging Cinematographer Awards. This year, HDSLR Shooter was fortunate enough to attend the award ceremony where the honorees and honorable mentions of this year’s awards were screened at the Los Angeles DGA theater.
After the ceremony, we had a chance to catch up with the honorees and honorable mentions to talk a little bit about their productions. Prior to speaking with them, we also had a chance to speak with ICG member and veteran cinematographer, Julio Macat, ASC, who gave us a bit of history about the Emerging Cinematographer Awards and why he believes it’s vital to the future of the motion picture industry.
