A note about The Industry Workshops

As always, The Industry Workshops events are a bargain that anyone interested should make a point of attending. While there is the option to view the workshop online (great for those out of the LA area) there is something to be said for attending in person. The speakers tend to stick around and interact with attendees afterwards, which is a great way to make new contacts or get more in depth questions answered. So, if you can, I’d encourage you to attend the workshop itself. We’ve attended several of these workshops and the presenters are REAL people in the business. We’ve met everyone from development executives and motion picture distribution companies to owners of production companies. This is a great way to interface with real industry professionals in a great setting. Of course, if you can’t attend this event, they will be taped and you can watch the event online. Don’t miss out!

Concept to Completion – Pitch Materials

What does it take to get your project sold? Do you need a one sheet, a treatment, show bible, sizzle reel, pitch trailer, script, synopsis, etc. And what are the components to each? How are they made and what separates the good ones from the bad ones? Do feature films need different materials prepared than documentary films? How do treatments differ between scripted and unscripted series?
Actor, producer, writer, show runner, Jude Gerard Prest has sold 30 plus hours of documentaries, series, specials and live event programming.  He has produced and directed several film projects and currently oversees, executive produces and serves as showrunner all of the media for a busy Austin, Texas production company.
He has produced, directed overseen and run over 500 hours of productions around the globe in a wide variety of projects from scripted and non scripted on a wide variety of genres, styles and formats. He goes through what each of the materials are, and what is necessary for each to stand out and help you get the sale.
